Are you and your doll bored? You've got Summer and no Vacation? Let's fix that! 1 DIY Beach Vacation coming up!
1. To start, we'll need to set the scene. Your going to need: A sand, yellow, or orange colored blanket, ( we flipped a sleeping bag inside out ) A blue blanket, and hand towels. Optional: An umbrella, ( we used a mini parasol ) and a box, toy, or something to put under the blanket to make waves if your going to surf. Lay the yellow blanket and the blue blanket next to each other to make the sand and water. Lay the hand towels along the sand so the dolls can "tan." Set up the umbrella over some of the towels for shade.
Note: Dolls cannot remain in the sun for a long period of time. After a short tan, set them in the shade or take them inside.
Slide your box/toy under the blanket. It should prop up the blanket in the shape of a wave; lower at the bottom, higher at the top.
2. The sun is hot, and your dolls need to protect themselves with some sunscreen. Take a small toothpaste bottle and wrap paper around it. Tape it in the back and write sunscreen on the front. Note: Do not actually use the toothpaste inside. The sunscreen is for pretend only.
3. Time for some sunglasses. If you already have a pair of doll glasses, just cut out tinfoil and tape it on the lenses. If you don't, use tinfoil or paper to make the base of the glasses. Use tinfoil for the lenses.
4. Surf's up! Cut out a surf board from some cardboard. Paint it and let it dry. Now your doll can ride the waves!
5. If your doll isn't much of a swimmer, maybe some land activities are more her style. Use play dough or real sand to make mini sandcastles. Use mini shells, sticks, and other things to decorate it.
